Baltimore Magic History

In addition to presenting magic shows for family audiences Mike Rose is also a magic historian. Mike has written and published two books and numerous articles on various aspects of magic history. Wanting to offer a library program for adults, Mike has created a new program based on his most recent book, Maryland's Ambassador of Magic: Phil Thomas and the Yogi Magic Mart. 

The program gives an overview of magicians and magic organizations in Baltimore during the early 20 century. Mike then focuses on Phil Thomas and his famous magic shop, performances and the influence Phil Thomas had on magicians (and the public) during his lifetime. 

Baltimore has a rich magic history and Mike brings it to life with this new multi-media program. Featured are seldom seen photos and antiquarian artifacts from Mike’s personal collection. It is a fascinating presentation that will keep your library audience entertained and enthralled. 

Designed for adults (but older teens would enjoy it, too) the program is 60 minutes long. No special equipment is needed; Mike brings everything with him that is required to present the program (including sound system and projector).  The fee for the 60 minute program is $350. There are no maximum attendee requirements; any number of people may attend.
